Ethereum will let users pay gas without holding ETH:
EIP‑8141 “Frame Transactions” is now scheduled for the 2027 Hegotá upgrade. It splits a tx into steps so the fee payer can be different from the sender, apps could cover fees or swap stablecoins for ETH on the user’s behalf.
Frames also enables custom auth rules (e.g., key rotation, post‑quantum keys) and bundles approvals with trades to avoid lingering permissions.

Validators rewound ~1h54m (10,961 blocks) after the Tectonic exploit, recovering ~$111.2M (~92%) of the $120.4M affected.
~$9.19M had left the network before the halt and remains unrecovered.
