Thoughts about the newest Humble Drop and Historical Listing (up to November 2021)

November 2021 Humble Choice November 2021 Humble Choice

Oh boy... hot on the heels of the Steam Autumn sale comes the latest Humble Bundle drop for November 2021. As usual, I have the baked in Legacy subscription to Humble Bundle, and so not only do I get a low price, but I don't have to make a decision as to which game I actually end up claiming... I get them all! Yay for being an early adopter... poop, for the monthly flood of games that add to my unplayed backlog! Still... some of these I will claim and others I will try and sell on the secondary market as gifts (sigh... I really have to get that updated...).

Many of the games in this month's drop are not games that I have heard of... it is going to be interesting to see what is in there. Sometimes, I really enjoy these months, where there isn't a leading AAA title in there... it really exposes some indie gems that wouldn't otherwise get much exposure... or sometimes, it is just a disappointment. So, without further ado, lets take a look through this month's drop and see what is in store for us!

Leading the drop for this month is an interesting game, Due Process. It appears to be a game where you plan an assault with your multiplayer teammates and then execute it in a FPS viewpoint? It does sound like an interesting blend of genres, and I think that it would have been the sort of thing that I would have loved to play togethere with fellow university nerds in the safety of our dorm rooms... but now a days, I don't really play that much multiplayer... and definitely not with any form of chatting! So I'm afraid that this game will go to someone else who will actually enjoy it!

Perhaps in another sign of my age... the game House Flippers does sound pretty cool to me! Buy up a fixer-upper... renovate and flip the house for profit? Actually, that does sound good... and given that I have no IRL handyman skills, this simulation will likely be the closest that I will ever get to this experience... however, I'm not sure that my house decoration tastes will be up to the job!

Project Wingman is another game that does look pretty damn awesome... but again, is a game that might have been better suited to when I was younger. On the other hand, the concept of playing this in VR seems like it would be fun. If only I had a VR setup, but that might come in the e future as these things drop in price and become more commonplace. Although I'm not likely to play this one right away, I will keep it around for the possible chance that I would get myself a VR setup!

Wingspan is a really cool card (tabletop) game that I've been wanting to get for quite some time now. I think that it would be a great collect game that would be a nice change from Sushi Go, and the artwork is just beautiful. So, I'm more that happy to see it in this month's drop. I'm keeping this as a family game!

BPM: Bullets per minute is another interesting genre mash-up. This time it is between a FPS game and the rhythm genre... bizarre, and I think that it is in the end a touch too bizarre for me to enjoy. So, into the game store it will go for something who will enjoy the crazily strange mix!

Turnip Boy Commits Tax Evasion... okay, so this looks like it has been made in RPG maker, which are the sorts of games that I tend to avoid. However, with that title... and the concept of being a turnip avoiding the over-reach of "Big Vegetable" (government)... I'm hooked!

Simple Rockets 2 is the 3D upgrade to the original... when, I'm a nerd for these sorts of simulators, and I think that this could be the adult version of Kerbal, so this is a no-brainer keeper for me! Even though it is Early Access, there seems to be just a wealth of modules and customisation that will make this one of the coolest nerd-gasms ever!

Timelie is another in a long run of puzzlers where you manipulate time in order to progress. I've enjoyed the concept in other games, and my oldest had lots of fun with Gardens Between. So, I think that this is going to be a great one for the kids (and me). Of course, it helps that it has collected a wealth of indie type awards!

Wrath: Aeon of Ruin.. an old school retro style FPS that looks like Quake 1.... I like the nostalgic games, but I've long learnt that nostalgia should stay in the past. I've had my rose-tinted glasses shattered a few too many times to chance this.

... and Mobius Front also falls in the same category. Too nostalgic, as it seems to hark back to Advance Wars. I'm also afraid that on the PC, I'm looking for a strategy/tactics game with a lot more depth!

Humble Bundle is an awesome subscription service, dropping up to 10 games each month of around 300 euros in price for the low low price of 12 USD. In addition you get access to the Humble Trove of downloadable games that accessible as long as you have a subscription and up to 20% discounts on the games being sold on the main store (in addition to any other discounts).

So, a super great deal... however, I have found that it is incredibly annoying to not have a historical listing of ALL the past Monthly drops in a place that is easy to find and accessible. I have to trawl through my old monthly purchases to look individually to see what has already dropped! There doesn't even seem to be a compilation of this information anywhere on the internet (not that I could find at least...).... so, I'm going to be releasing an updated historical list of Monthly Bundles each month (surprise...) when the Choice bundle drops.

Mostly, this is more for my own sanity... and I really hope that it is of some use to other people as well. When a sale goes up, I always am wondering if I already own the game (I don't tend to claim the purchases and keys immediately...) and if I'm going to be double buying the Steam key... or if the game goes on sale on Switch or a different platform, I don't want to be buying a second copy again!... or maybe someone will see this and see what a great deal
Humble Bundle really is! Plus, if you like e-books (comics and books) or audiobooks, there are often Pay-What-You-Want deals going on all the time!

So, without further ADO!... the historical listings, in reverse chronological order (newest first..) of the Humble Choice games... from when I first joined! This is being done manually... it is a pain in the arse, but Humble doesn't make it easy! Still, when it is done, each new month will be easier to do! Just got to remember to make a template...
