bitcoin maxis are fighting each other again and it's giving blocksize wars flashback energy.
michael saylor and adam back just tag teamed a proposal called BIP-110, which wants to nuke ordinals inscriptions off the network because apparently jpegs on bitcoin are the real threat to civilization.
saylor hopped on x saying there are 110 things more dangerous to bitcoin than spam.
love that for him.
adam back called the whole thing a "quest to police other people," which is very rich coming from two guys who built entire empires on telling other people what money should look like.
the wild part is ordinals activity is basically dead right now. less than 10k inscriptions a day compared to 400k+ at the 2023 peak.
so they're fighting over a corpse. classic.
BIP-110 needs 55% of nodes to even activate and last count it was sitting at 1%.
so this is mostly vibes and main character energy on crypto twitter, not an actual network event yet.
still, watching two bitcoin billionaires publicly bicker about spam while my bags bleed red is the kind of content i live for.
grab popcorn, this ain't over 🍿
