Belgium vs Canada!

Let's start with the performance of my beloved Red Devils. We have to be honest and Canada deserved the win, but are left behind empty handed. This had nothing to do with Belgium, but they just took the wrong decision time after time in the box. If they would have scored the penalty, it probably would have been game over for Belgium. Belgium just got overpowered and didn't have confidence at the ball, resulting in too many long balls. Irony is that one of those long balls was the assist for the goal of Batshuayi.
I was wrong about Hazard, who didn't play great but good enough to justify his spot in the starting 11. I was surprised about De Bruyne, who just like the Canadians took the wrong decision time after time. He could have send Tielemans (also a bad performance) twice one on one with the Canadian goalie, but decided to give the ball twice to the left.
But regardless of our awful performance we are in a better position than Germany and Argentina. And we do always have one bad performance at a big tournament, if this was that game, the future looks brighter than we do think. If we could win on Sunday against Marocco, we are already assured of the knockout stages.

Betting wise!

Ouch, tough times for me as a punter! Nothing seems to go my way. Could I have predicted the loss of Germany against Japan, probably yes. Compare to x years ago, every sub top team in Europe and even some top teams do have Japanese players. So, there aren't what they have been in the past, but are an experienced team full of energy!

After today all first round matches of the group stage are played and I am still looking for a winner. I did dodge some bullets like Argentina, but Germany did kill me last standing pre-round bet. so, it is back to drawing table. Do more research and turn things around! And the second round of the group stage will be even more difficult to predict. Some teams are already playing with elimination danger, other's got such a confident boost that it will be hard to see if they can continue their amazing performances! Only time will tell.

I will follow the path of an acca per day and 2 or 3 for the complete third round. But first let's focus on the final games or round 1!

I will just go for the 4 home teams to win, although there is no home advantage here. These teams are the favorites in their games. This gives me odds of 6.706, not good enough to erase all losses from the previous bets, but we shouldn't chase our losses.
