Inside of the cryptosphere there's a lot happening, so much so, that it's hard to keep up. New altcoin projects pop up everyday, there's a new exchange, the volatility itself is even a discussion point. Outside of the sphere, we have news about scams, influencer's getting caught shilling them, banks banning exchanges, nfts and how the introduction to crypto in gaming would wreck the industry.
On the outside looking in, to them we look as if we're all crypto bros with no other interests and our only plan is to get rich of the backs off the general public through shitty altcoins that will only lose their value. Generally any mention of crypto may now bring an eye roll to these people. So if you want to talk about crypto, what should you talk about?
After a huge loss during the bear market, I kept talking optimistically about bitcoin and (to my own regret) the futures market. You see, in the bull run I was earning over $100-200/day with a bot on the futures market so I was confident in the market sentiment and that the value would only increase, I felt like I couldn't stop the bot or I'd miss out on a days profit so I didn't. I started losing huge amounts every few days and I'd be recouping my losses until it got to a point where I was a few grand down and I was still optimistic that I felt I'd get it back if I didn't lose hope. Overall, I ended up losing more than I gained and to those in my circle I came across as a degenerate gambler. When I stopped, the markets only continued to decline for another year. I lost faith in the markets and I couldn't bring myself to talk about anything other than my words of caution else I wouldn't speak at all.
It took me a long time to regain faith in the market, and I still have that gripping fear that I'll get stupid and greedy and this time, lose everything. Now, I defend the markets again and encourage people to buy the dips, I do issue caution but only against using the futures market and I give advice to hodl and look for spaces that reward you for holding. I don't talk about bitcoin as some get rich quick scheme anymore. I talk about it as a valid investment that is still overall in its early days and that in the coming years, as technology improves so will project efficacy and utility. I tell people to do their research and invest based on what will be needed in the future and not the memes of today. I only earn a few dollars, if even, a day now and while I wish it more, I wouldn't risk the small amount I've gained back. I'd rather earn interest on what I have, hodl and write the odd article to slowly pave my way to the future.
