Last week was my first week of work and the weekend before was well rough. With how poorly the week went for me I knew I needed to get out of DC ASAP. I am lucky enough to have friends I have known since before grade school that live in Quantico, Virginia. He is a Marine who is stationed at the base and she is a nurse who works triage.
They know how crazy it has been in DC for me so the gladly took me in. Shelby drive up to grab me Saturday morning and talked me into staying until Monday. It is a nice break from politics and the stresses of work. Washington is so locked down and ID is needed to go everywhere. It’s more of a military base than the military base I am currently on. Luckily I work remotely tomorrow so I do not have to worry about getting back.
Catching up with friends though and being away from DC is the best thing for me though. Having people who have known me for years and understand me is something that I cannot describe. It’s hard being Chronically Ill but they make it so much easier.
