My mistress calls all hours of the day and night. Lying awake in bed at 2 am my iPad lights up briefly and I know she is notifying me that she has moved 5%. To the upside or downside I do not know as I try to go back to sleep.

Sleep does not come quickly. She whispers, “ don’t you want to know what I have been up to since you went to bed four hours ago ? The sooner you check the sooner you can get back to sleep “ she insists so I grudgingly comply.

The next day I am at work in the middle of an email and she comes to mind. I wonder what she is doing ? I have not received any notifications yet today. I stop what I am doing to check and she is unchanged and my notifications remain silent. I gather my thoughts again and proceed with my email. 

Later that evening I am at home with my wife having dinner and I hear that certain notification tone and I know it is my mistress beckoning for my attention once again. I find myself thinking “ she’s just going to have to wait until I am done with dinner . “

A minute goes by and in between the chicken and mac and cheese I can almost hear her whisper “ Oh you want to play that game ? You know I can get you rekt ! “
