Most people have just started to invest in cryptocurrency recently, especially in a third-world country like the one I live in, where most people doesn't know what financial freedom is and the slightest idea on how to start the journey towards it. Speaking from my personal experience in high-school and few years of college, most students either don't care or don't have the information necessary to learn more about cryptocurrency. Looking back, I regret a lot of things I did in the past, one which is wasting my money for useless things and not learning/finding out about cryptocurrency earlier. I'm pretty sure that for the 'veterans' or people who have a lot of knowledge in cryptocurrency won't gain anything by reading this, but for people who is eager to gain the so called financial freedom, I just want to share some of the things that I think would help me in a lot of tough situations like this pandemic if I had known beforehand.

One of which is the need to have an emergency budget. Every time you receive your paycheck or receive any amount of money that you can put in a savings, leave a small amount behind for emergency situations such as natural disasters, accidents, or any of the bad things that can prevent you from ever working again (no more income). A very good example of this is this current pandemic, where a lot of people in my country which is fired due to severe mini lockdown regulations that the government issues that doesn't allow non-vital business to operate at its full capacity on-site. Sadly, most of these people doesn't have an emergency savings which allows them to stay at home and still be able to fulfill their daily necessities, and so it just makes the problem of choosing to die by starvation or to die by the C19.

The second thing that I wish I did is to not waste money on a lot of things in my teenage years, such as online games, shopping for unnecessary things, and luxurious foods. For some people, it might be a sustainable way of living, but for many, it is a complete waste of money and opportunity. Let's say that you spend $30 on games, $50 on shopping, and $50 on drinking/parties/luxurious foods monthly (Side note that in my region, the average salary is about $300 monthly).  Imagine if you just spend half of it ($65) for investing either on stocks, crypto, or anything that is profitable (let's say on a 5% interest), could have been much more useful especially in hard times like these, whereas the amount you spend on unnecessary things will just be a temporary happiness booster. As much as spending money on things that makes you happy is important, you should always think about the future, not just in the moment.

And for the last thing, I wish that I had spend more of my time on learning more about cryptocurrency on my earlier days, which also correlates to my first and second point. If I had the eagerness to learn and had the necessary knowledge about savings, emergency budget, and cryptocurrency, I'm sure I wouldn't have wasted a lot of my time and money on things that currently have no value in my life, and I would have been so much more prepared for the chaos that this pandemic have caused on myself, and a lot of my relatives.
