New Updates to

Welcome back, Splinterlands fans and Publish0x readers!

Today I'd like to announce a few brand new updates to A couple of these, although seemingly small, have been widely anticipated by our players. Without further ado...

The Updates

1. Dark Energy Crystals can be Transferred

Dark Energy Crystals (DEC) are the main in-game currency of Splinterlands. When a player sells cards on the Monster Market, they are paid in Dark Energy Crystals, Credits or HIVE, depending on the currency that was used by the buyer. Players have long awaited being able to easily transfer DEC to other players. This has been possible before, but only by sending the DEC to HIVE-Engine, where it becomes a tokenized version that is tradable outside the game.

This update is another fantastic step toward making trading cards easier to sell than ever before!

2. Balance History

When a game like Splinterlands is powered by a blockchain (HIVE), all transactional data is stored forever in an immutable digital ledger. That is after all the trademark of blockchains. Finding ways to decrypt and easily call up this data for users is a challenge entirely of its own. This update signifies that great progress is being made toward extracting all sorts of interesting statistical data, which will help us with everything from marketing the game to players' skill levels!

The Splinterns

The Splinterns are a group of college students from around the world who are currently working on what was just described. Many of them are programmers, and through the duration of the Splinterns summer program, they hope to create an independent market and all-around Splinterlands interface. Check  them out what they've been up to on Twitter and HIVE.

3. Tips and Lore with Every Battle

As the lead writer and creator of content for Splinterlands, I am especially excited to see the first implementation of this fun little bonus. There are hundreds of pointers and battle tips we're looking forward to sharing with you, many of them from the players themselves, but there are also thousands of little bits of lore and things to know about the Splinterlands. I'm eager to share them all with you, and it is my hope that one day, even the all-day Splinterlands player will see something new every single time.
