I joined Steemit in February 2018. The platform seemed promising to me, and it was, it really was. But I soon realized that there were some flaws that nothing could erase.
In the last two years, I have posted on Steemit more than two hundred articles, I think. And I even think I'm far below the truth, but I'm too lazy to count. Anyway, in two years, by adding my external earnings (faucets, cloud mining, various games), I've accumulated about 2300 STEEM, which as for now equals about $560.
So why do I want to leave Steemit (almost) for Publish0x? What are those flaws that bother me so much?
First of all, the community aspect, if it is claimed as a strength of Steemit, is also one of its weaknesses. On Publish0x, tips are anonymous. On Steemit, they are nominative. So we know who votes for our articles, and this often turns into a vicious circle, where the one who is not part of it will never get his or her piece of the pie.
In other words, the whales support each other in order to maximize their gains, and the little ones get the crumbs.
Also, robots have long been the rule, allowing those who could afford it to earn even more. Fortunately, this dubious practice is on the decline, but Steemit's image remains tarnished.
And then, the various changes in strategy of the management team, until the recent takeover of Steemit by Justin Sun, leave us in total uncertainty about the future of the platform.
This is why I have decided to (almost) leave Steemit. Publish0x doesn't have all these problems. Votes are anonymous, tips are fair for all. Well, as far as I know. Publish0x is more appealing, easier to use especially, although I guess there must be some things to know, which I'll learn as I go along.
But then, why this (almost)?
Quite simply because the STEEMs I've earned so far won't be sleeping around unnecessarily. They're going to continue to make little ones, using my daily voting power to keep voting for my favorite authors, and generate a few more STEEMs.
But for the rest, it will be on Publish0x from now on...
