A few days ago, my visit to Druid Ridge Cemetery inspired a post recanting the tale of Black Aggie. I would've been remiss had I not take some shots of the beautiful monuments scattered throughout the 200 acre final resting site, which was founded in 1898.

What's ironic about these pieces of art is that they're underappreciated, rarely visited. If they weren't created to be memorial pieces, they could be housed in museums. Some of these monuments were created by Hans Schuler. One of the reasons I love visiting cemeteries, in addition to the peaceful and tranquil settings, is to check out the sculptures.
