Acquired Partly with BTC: Complete in Box Pokemon Silver

If you've read my blog, you know that I have leveraged some of my crypto holdings as a tool for trading retro games. After all, it is electronic money, no? Well, just in case you've missed it, here are some of those posts:

It's really been amazing for me to have two of my favourite past times converge into one. So, the journey continues. In one of my recent hauls, I had acquired the box and paperwork of Pokemon Silver for the Nintendo Gameboy Color for a stack of satoshis.

If you experienced the joy of this G2 classic, then you can immediately hear that intro music playing in your head and recall the frustration of trying to catch Lugia. I know I spent hours lost in the world of Johto tirelessly training my team up. I can say that, as an adult, it's a great way to decompress at the end of a long day. There's just nothing like playing the O.G. Pokemon titles: they're simple and just perfect. I say that as a hardcore "gen-wunner," if you know -- you know!!

All that was left was to add the game cartridge, so $70 later, completeness occurred.

Voila! Imperfect completion -- the box definitely had some water spilled on it and has some edge wear, the precautions booklet is a bit warped, there is someone's old writing on the Nintendo Power offer card; evidently, they paid with a money order. But that's what gives this particular copy character! Sure, you can play this title via emulator or even a digital copy but nothing beats the real deal: sliding the cartridge into your atomic purple Gameboy Color, perhaps your silver Advance SP model.

At any rate, it's up for sale via eBay if nostalgia has struck you so. It's just another step on my personal crypto journey, and you can venture to guess what a portion of the proceeds from the sale will toward (gotta rebuild the stack, of course). I really get a kick out of using crypto as its original intended purpose, a peer-to-peer electronic money system. It's truly a wonderful thing!

So thanks for joining me on this journey down memory lane, thanks for reading, and if you're subscribed to me here on Publish0x, thanks for being a follower! I wish everyone well on their personal crypto journeys and peace in their daily affairs!
