🚨 Why I Think FOMO Is More Dangerous Than a Market Crash

By Lost soul | ALL IN ONE | 4 hours ago

Whenever I was learning crypto in the beginning, I believed that the only possible worst case scenario for a crypto investor is a market crash.

Every time Bitcoin or other cryptos were going down, I would imagine thousands of people losing their money.

"A crash is the worst that can happen," I would think to myself.

However, after several months of studying the crypto market, I came to a realization that I now want to share with you.

For me personally, FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out) is far more dangerous than a market crash.

Why?

Because a market crash doesn't make me invest. My emotions do.

Every time a coin starts pumping, social media starts flooding with tons of screenshots, telling that "this coin is about to go 10x!" or "last chance before it blows up!"

Seeing all those posts, anyone could feel that he's missing a rare opportunity to make a killing.

Believe me or not, I almost went through it myself.

There was a certain point in my crypto journey when I wanted to buy a certain coin because everybody was talking about it.

But I had no clue what it actually does or what the team behind the project is doing.

The only reason why I wanted to purchase this coin was the fear of missing out.

So, right there I paused myself and asked myself this one important question:

"Would I still buy this coin if nobody on social media would talk about it?"

And this question changed my perspective on the whole situation.

I came to the realization that if my answer is "no", I am not an investor but a follower.

First of all, the crypto market provides countless opportunities. Maybe I missed one coin now, but surely there will be a second opportunity coming soon.

That's why I don't believe in rushing into the decision anymore.

A market crash can give me time to analyze the situation, learn something new and prepare for the future. However, FOMO is the only factor that forces me to make decisions without analyzing the situation thoroughly.

Also, not every coin that became viral in social media became successful. Every week some new project starts calling itself "the next Bitcoin".

After some time, most of those projects disappear again. That's why I stopped believing in hype.

Nowadays, I do my best to stop listening to social media noise and sticking to my own plan.

And the main part of the plan is learning new information rather than following new trends. I believe that patience and wise decisions will definitely beat emotional decisions.

And the last thingΒ  I don't consider missing one opportunity to be the worst case scenario.

What is actually harmful for meΒ  losing money because of my impulsive investments.

For me personally, FOMO is way more dangerous than a market crash because it leads to impulsive actions of even wise and experienced investors. 🌱

I would rather miss a coin that doubles in price than buying something I don't believe in.

Crypto will definitely provide new opportunities for everybody in the future. Good decisions can be made only if you stick to patience.
