Second day to the Barra da Tijuca seaside. The season let us go for another walking and this time we discovered an unusual corner, finding an unusual, but for us pleasing surprise:
This is called lagarto (a giant lizard): It was surrounded by high grass. I only approached just enough to take the photo, but I didn't overcome the grass, even if the animal looked like harmless. My husband, that is a Brazilian native, said it's really harmless, but look, if you visit the place with children, don't let them approach in any way. If children approach and try to play with it, this animal can be frightened and attack them. If it gets afraid, it attacks. It must be left alone and taking its photos from a certain distance is enough.

Segundo día paseando por las playas de Barra da Tijuca. El tiempo estaba bastante agradable para los paseos y esta vez descubrimos una esquina playera con una increible sorpresa que nos gustó mucho:
Este es un lagarto gigante: estaba rodeado de pastizales. Me acerqué lo apenas suficiente para sacar fotos, pero no sobrepasé los pastizales, aunque el animal parecía inofensivo. Mi marido, que es brasileño nativo, dijo que realmente es inofensivo, pero sólo hasta que no se sienta amenazado. Por lo tanto, si visitan el lugar con niños, no dejen que se le acerquen, ni piensen en jugar con él. Si se siente amenazado, los ataca. Ese animal necesita que no se le incomode y sacar sus fotos desde una cierta distancia es más que suficiente.

In spite of being a distinguished quarter, in Brazil it still happens we see garbage thrown on the groung, lot of times cause lack of trash cans/Fotos sacadas con mi celular, en ese momento tenía un Samsung slim III. Son dos fotos distintas del mismo lagarto: siento que en la segunda aparece una bolsita de plástico. Aunque es un barrio noble, en el Brasil seguimos encontrando basura en el suelo, muchas veces por falta de botes de basura
