Hi everyone, I'm bringing you today a not very pleasant story, but it's the best I have to exemplify what it's like to lose money, enjoy money and invest money.
I will tell the stories of three cousins who grew up together. One invested or saved from an early age, another had fun from an early age and the other got drugged from an early age. I hope with this story I can shed light on what it is like to lose money.
The first of three cousins has devoted himself since his teenage allowances to collecting his money. Everything he earned from his father, even school lunch money, he kept in a safe. Because this boy grew up saving. He has become a thrifty young adult and an adult with a family who has a home of their own, a car, an emergency reserve, and some fear of losing any money, however minimal.
The second cousin always liked parties for young people, he was an early father. The family came before they could buy a car or any other property. This one lives for rent and has no big ambitions. He can't even take his family out to dinner.
The third has always had an unruly life. He enjoyed a lot of "drug sex and rock'n roll" from a young age. He was a new father and to this day he cannot even support his three children.
The three met at a family party and began to talk about their lives at age 40. One speaks of the quiet life he leads with his family. The other talks about the difficulties of sustaining a house. The other tries to disguise his own failure.
The first after considerations decides to advise others. "keep or invest some money, but don't lose money."
The second says "I enjoyed my life and I don't regret it".
The third one says "You two pondering between keeping and enjoying, but I say. You, First, you lost the most money. I lived a life of drugs I have no assets or possessions. Second, you enjoyed your ballads and apparently you didn't either If you weren't afraid to invest, you'd be a millionaire. Enjoying a yacht and you wouldn't even be here."
The reflection I leave is; don't be afraid to invest, as the loss is very small. Imagine investing $10k and losing 2k and continuing with 8k. Now imagine using 10 k on drugs and not having anything to talk about at home?
Who really loses money investing?
