A melody lay buried deep inside my heart,
A silent song of longing, torn apart.
Then I saw her face, her lips, her sorrowed eyes,
And love awakened underneath those skies.

Night after night, her memory burned bright,
A flame of love that filled my heart with light.
I told my heart, “Speak not of love again,”
But one soft smile from her made all my warnings vain.

Her eyes unveiled the secrets I concealed,
A thousand hidden stories were revealed.
I walked away, afraid to see her face,
Yet all her fragrance followed me through every place.

I searched for some escape from love and pain,
But love became a caravan I could not leave again.
Wherever I wandered, wherever I would roam,
Her footsteps filled my sight and followed me back home.

The moon looked through my window late at night,
And asked me why I stayed awake till light.
I told the moon, “A memory remains,
Of one beloved who turns my nights to chains.”

A star asked why my heart was filled with sorrow,
I said, “It is love that steals the joy of tomorrow.”
The wind arrived and brought her breath to me,
And woke old memories I thought had ceased to be.

The rain came softly, touching every pane,
Each drop translating all my hidden pain.
I watched each falling tear upon the glass,
And saw within it memories of the past.

I asked the rain, “Do you perhaps know why
My heart has learned to live beneath her sky?”
It whispered, “You are lost in love, my friend;
Once love has taken hold, there is no easy end.”

I asked, “If love is this, why does it taste so sweet?”
It said, “Because its sorrow makes the soul complete.”
I sat beside the window till the dawn,
Still hoping that perhaps she would return at dawn.

The morning came, but no familiar sound,
The sun arose, yet she was nowhere to be found.
I asked the sun, “Did you pass where she stays?”
It said, “I saw her, but knew not your heart’s ways.”

My heart was still content with dreams that could not last,
While reason said, “Your love has made you lost.”
I told my mind, “Leave me with my sorrow here,
For every word you speak is foreign to my ear.”

You seek to save me from the grief of love,
But I am who I am, and love is what I have.
What can I do with this rebellious heart?
I tell it to forget her—it refuses to depart.

Days passed by, yet still I could not let her go,
Each night her memory deepened like the snow.
Sometimes she came to me within a dream,
She sat beside me, smiling like a distant gleam.

I gave my life to one remembered sight,
Though she was gone, my heart still held her tight.
What wonder is it, that a soul can fall
For someone whose one glance can change it all?

One look from her could steal an entire town,
One silence from her could turn every story down.
She spoke no words, yet somehow made me hear
A hundred untold tales I carried year by year.

Since the day my eyes first met her gaze,
I lost my peace, my sleep, my former days.
Whenever someone asked me, “Why so still?”
I answered, “There are secrets words can never reveal.”

I said, “It is love, and love should stay unspoken,
For once a secret’s told, its spell is broken.”
Years passed, and still her first breath stayed
Like one eternal memory that never faded.

Even now, the scent of that old street remains,
That rainy night still lives within my veins.
Whenever someone speaks of love to me,
My heart returns to where her dark eyes used to be.

Even now, if somewhere I should see her shade,
My childish heart would run to her unafraid.
What can I do? If love were meant to leave,
It would have gone—but still it makes me breathe.

I counted every breath in hope that she would come,
But time moved past my window, beating like a drum.
I asked at last, “Will all this distance end?”
My heart replied, “Each love has its own road to bend.”

Perhaps one day she’ll come when I am old,
Perhaps she’ll learn the story never told.
Perhaps she’ll sit beside me, calm and near,
And read these bitter verses with a smile sincere.

I will not ask for blame, nor ask for why,
Nor bring old wounds beneath the evening sky.
I only want her eyes to remember me,
To know that once her name was all I’d see.

I’ll tell her, “For a lifetime, in this heart,
Your name remained; no one could take your part.”
I’ll tell her, “After you, the world was still bright,
But nowhere did its beauty feel quite right.”

I’ll tell her, “Yes, I burned beneath your absence,
But never did I turn against the love you gave.”
A candle burns, yet leaves behind its light;
My heart burned too, but loved you through the night.

Though autumn came and every flower fell,
Your memory kept its fragrance in my heart to dwell.
Though rain washed every footprint from the ground,
Your trace within my heart could never be unwound.

I am that silent poet of the night,
Who wrote his grief but kept it out of sight.
I am the one who, in a crowded place,
Still spoke your name though no one knew its trace.

Within my heart, your melody remains,
Though sorrow turned its music into pains.
Your lips, your face—what spell did they possess,
That even now my heart cannot escape their tenderness?

And if the story ends without embrace,
I will not curse the love that knew your face.
Though all I gained from you was memory,
I gave my heart to it—and let it be.

As long as breath remains within my chest,
Your love will live; it will not be laid to rest.
As long as I can write, my verses will proclaim
The sorrow of those eyes, the beauty of your name.

If all the world should try to tear us far apart,
It cannot break the love engraved upon my heart.
For this was never a heart that learned to bend;
It loved you once—and loved you to the end.

And if one day I leave this earthly shore,
Know that my final poem will speak of you once more.
And if my tale should vanish with the dawn,
Your name will still remain when I am gone.

For in this chest, which beat for you so long,
No other soul was ever written in its song.
And when my final breath has left the silent air,
Your memory will still be waiting there.

A melody once lay buried in my heart,
A silent song of longing, torn apart.
Then you arrived—and with your gentle light,
You brought that dying melody back to life.
