Quantum Computing Constructs
Defined by IEEE P7130, while IEC & ISO put together their Working Group (WG) to tackle more standards definitions.
Quantum computing combines quantum mechanics and theoretical algorithms and are encoded information as quantum bits, or Qubits. Qubits represent atoms, ions, photons or electrons and their respective control devices that are working together to act as computer memory and a processor. The speed of these offerings far out paces even the fastest binary supercomputers.
Use Case
Build a super fast secure Internet, think unhackable framework that could serve as the basis for a Global Blockchain.
Top Players
D-Wave System, Honeywell, IBM, Google, Ford is working w/ Microsoft, Regetti to name just a few
Problems with this computing model.
First is lifetime of bit storage in '17 is nano-seconds long. These matters have been addressed in the past few years the lifetime is still short vs binary computer offerings. Second these computers need to operate in chilled environments just above absolute zero. Which most enterprises will not be able to accommodate
