Temple Wallet unveiled its latest update on Wednesday, May 24, introducing the TKEY token. With this release, Tezos witnessed the emergence of its very first wallet token, following in the footsteps of Trust Wallet's TWT token introduced in 2020.
Temple Wallet has established itself as the leading and most widely used non-custodial wallet for seamless interaction with Tezos' DeFi protocols, storing NFTs and tokens, as well as facilitating TEZ delegation. Since its launch in 2021, Temple Wallet has garnered an impressive for the ecosystem 250,000 installations.
The recent major update to the wallet encompasses several noteworthy features, as highlighted by the wallet developers in MadFish’s official blog post. These include the integration of iCloud and Google account creation, in-app swaps with cashback rewards, expanded delegation options, and the introduction of the Temple Wallet Token, known as "TKEY." Additionally, a portion of the swap fees collected will be utilized to burn Temple Tokens, further enhancing their value.
The TKEY token rewards users and plays a crucial role in promoting the overall Tezos ecosystem, with a particular emphasis on Temple Wallet.
