The deep-seated belief in the Russian psyche that we are impervious to outside influences finds its roots in a selective interpretation of our history, particularly the 1940s. This belief raises a fascinating thought experiment: could there be a repeating geopolitical pattern in which Moscow is occupied every 200 years? And more importantly, when can the world expect Moscow to transform into a more democratic, peaceful Russia? This potential for change, for a more democratic and peaceful Russia, is a beacon of hope in the global geopolitical landscape.

Let's talk about the history of Russia, how Russians feel about themselves and their country, and especially how we feel about our security. This is the feeling that people have in Russia that we are untouchable and that we are safe in a certain relationship between the government and the people, which is that if we don't bother the government, the government won't bother us, and we will live in the shadows in peace. And if someone asks our opinion on the street, we might have this clever philosophical axiom where we feel isolated, and the West, and no one outside of Russia, can touch us. This is based on historical facts and experiences that we were told about the 1940s and modern history, but the reality is wrong: every 200 years or so, Moscow is occupied, the country falls on hard times, the country is occupied. The first, obviously, was the battle of the Golden Horde on the Kulikovo field against Dmitry Donskoy in 1380. Thanks to the victory in this battle, the Moscow Principality was able to rise against the background of other Russian lands, becoming the center of their unification. But the defeated Mamai was replaced by the disgraced Khan Tokhtamysh, who in 1382 seized Moscow by deception, which was devastated, and the yoke lasted for another 100 years until 1480. Then, almost 200 years later, the Polish-Russian War occurred, when after the Battle of Klushino in 1610, the Polish-Lithuanian army of Hetman Stanislav Zholkevsky captured Moscow and established its power in Russia. In total, 200 years passed after the Golden Horde, and then Napoleon appeared. In 1812, the Battle of Borodino took place, after which Moscow was occupied. All this happened in the 1400s, 1600s, 1800s. Now we live in 2024. That is, now we are all observing another period of 200 years.
At present, we are dependent and under the power of the myth that we are inviolable, that no one can touch us. After all, this is Mother Russia, we are Russian, we are invincible. Even if our life is not very good, we are safely hidden in our Arctic desert, or that God will take care of us. But this is not true, because all of Russian history says that every 200 years Russia is under occupation, going through troubled times. And we are not even talking about the Russian revolution of 1917. We are talking about the fact that after each occupation of Moscow, a reformatting of Russian society occurs. It is possible that there will be no occupation as it was in the past, but the 2000s are the process of reformatting Moscow and Russia. Every 200 years Moscow was occupied, Moscow experienced a period of crisis every time, and now we are approaching the 200-year mark, if you believe in large cycles and megacycles of geopolitical development. Pay attention to the trends happening in our country and in the world, and perhaps many of our fellow citizens will lose their naive sense of invincibility.
Let's see what happens next. Personally, I want to make the world a better place, and for me this means eradicating despotism and tyranny throughout the
world, so let's hope that our society will be reformatted in a more successful direction, coinciding with the next approaching cycle in Russian history.
I hope that in the new Russia there will be a new anthem, which sings about the end of corruption, freedom of speech, democracy, the absence of the FSB, and so on. The main thing is that we ourselves want to play this anthem, and then we will understand that we can sing what we want.
