Ted Nelson thinks he knows the person behind Satoshi Nakamoto

IT visionary Ted Nelson thinks he knows the person behind Satoshi Nakamoto, the pseudonymous creator of Bitcoin ( BTC ) whose true identity remains a mystery to this day.

In an interview with Forbes, Nelson says that a Newton-level mathematical genius is probably the person who created the main cryptocurrency. He was referring to Shinichi Mochizuki, a Japanese mathematician who completed his doctorate. to Princeton in three years and a Salvatorian graduate of his class.

Nelson first revealed his theory that Mochizuki is the inventor of Bitcoin in a 12-minute video he posted on YouTube in 2013. He says his views have not changed.

Nakamoto released the Bitcoin framework in 2008 and continued to interact with the early developers until 2011, when he emailed one of the people working on the Bitcoin project he had decided to move on to other projects.

Although Mochizuki, who now teaches mathematics at Kyoto University, is Japanese, Nelson believes he wrote the correspondence associated with Nakamoto because his English is good. Mochizuki has also released his work on number theory called "abc conjecture", publishing articles that totaled 500 pages, reports the scientificamerican.

Although he apparently solved the 27-year-old mathematical conundrum of the abc conjecture in 2012, which had been banned by all other mathematicians, Mochizuki decided to remain discreet.

Said Nelson via Forbes,

"He was asked to give a lesson on this and he refused. Instead, he just walked on tiptoe saying he had nothing more to say about it, just like he did in 2011 after giving bitcoin to the world. "

Late console game developer Hal Finney, cryptographer Adam Back, computer scientists Nick Szabo and Craig Wright, and even drug dealer Paul Le Roux are among those suspected of being the creators of the royal coin, but Nelson is convinced that Mochizuki is the real Nakamoto.

“It had to be done by one person. This one person had to be someone with extraordinary thoroughness and work ethic because the bits of Bitcoin are so well integrated. "
