DApp Transaction Volume Reaches 12 Billion Dollars in Q2 2020 Via the adoption of DeFi

  • DApp transaction volume reached $ 12 billion in the second quarter of 2020 - an increase of $ 4.5 billion from the first quarter.
  • The Dapp base of Ethereum alone accounted for 82% of sales of 12 billion.
  • EOS ( EOS ) and Tron ( TRX ) have also increased the daily Dapp activity in 2020.

In the second quarter 2020, transaction volumes decentralized applications (FAD) have reached 12 billion, an increase of 4.5 billion (37%) compared to the first quarter, according DappRadar.

DappRadar also noted that Ethereum DApps accounted for 82% of the $ 12 billion figure, the majority of the value coming from decentralized finance (DeFi) applications. With $ 1.2 billion in transaction volume, Compound (COMP) has become the most valuable DApp.

However, not all Ethereum DApps thrive. Gaming DApps fell 80% this quarter due to higher Ethereum gas prices and transaction costs. DappRadar noted that high gas prices are "killing gaming activity" on Ethereum .

This year, EOS ( EOS ) and Tron ( TRX ) have seen their Dapp activity increase. In the second quarter, Tron's transaction volume increased by 17,210%. The sudden spike in the use of Tron Dapps is largely attributed to Oikos.cash - a Tron version of the Compound application from Ethereum .

The activity of the EOS DApp portfolio fell by 53% from 2019 to 2020 due to network congestion caused by the release of the EIDOS token. DappRadar said that "the drop triggered massive congestion on the network by sucking up the majority of the EOS blockchain resources ," adding that it has proven to be "catastrophic" for the entire EOS DApp ecosystem .
