Rant #5: Sport Athletes and Crypto

When I saw the headline that someone wanted to have their contract paid out entirely in BTC, I looked up in a moment to ask could it be done. While that didn't come to fruition due to contract language, why is it that more athletes aren't advocating for this type of innovation? I've seen everybody from media moguls to rappers start to feed into the idea of "pay me crypto" more than the idea of pay me in $$$.

Why is it there isn't a team with a Coinbase sponsorship yet? Has Binance come out of the shadows and decided to do more ad hits than on Brave? Why are we still treating the Wheaties box as if its more valuable than have an ad on WoW, Drone Racing, or an absolute icon of the sporting world like the HoF QB down in Tampa right now?

Guess it'll take some time, but I'd like to see an athlete partner with Coinbase in the two years for a unique partnership. Within 3? A contract that is solely paid for in BTC, ETH, or other with transparent ledgers so the public can view a genius move in the works.
