While some government agencies label crypto payments as being a security threat, illegal, the fact is that increasingly PayPal account holders are preferring to use crypto for receiving and making payment.There are multiple reasons for the change in payment method which are listed below:
- in some cases,the PayPal account of the business or professional has been disabled. In 2022, some customers said that their PayPal account was disabled and they would use other methods for making payment
- Lower fees, typically PayPal fees are $0.30+ 4.4% , for crypto payments, the transaction fees are lower
- less work available from websites paying with PayPal,especially for online workers from poorer communities. Increasingly in some countries, all the lucrative work, especially writing work, which pays using PayPal is being monopolized by the rich and powerful companies, high status well connected people, especially relatives and friends of powerful government employees in a sophisticated form of bribery
- plenty of work from websites paying with crypto, fewer small sites offering paypal payment
- quick payment from crypto websites, online worker will get paid immediately or the same day, does not have to wait or worry that he or she will not get paid for the work done spending time.

So it is time that government policy makers revise their taxes for crypto payment, and treat it like PayPal for smaller payments of less than $300 a month.
