I was expecting a rout when Manchester City took on Birmingham City due to the attacking nature and passing style of City. It wasn't long before City took the lead in the 7th minute when he volleyed in his effort, leaving the keeper with no chance at all.
Fernando Silva wasn't done and seemed to be in the mood for goals on the night and he doubled his tally and that of City with a cool finish in the 15th minute.
The in-form Foden completed the 3-0 in the 32nd minute and it looks like City would score every time they attack but that was all there is to their game. A comprehensive 3-0 win and it was fully deserved.
It looked like it is the season for youngsters these days as they are thriving more and pulling their weight to help their respective teams. Imagine Saka in Arsenal. The young lad carrying the whole team. Imagine Rashford and Martial too, even though they are not that teenager anymore but they are trying to make the difference. Imagine Foden too in City and I could go on and on but this is good because it bodes well for the future.
The surprise of the night came when Crawley comprehensively beat Leeds United with 3 goals. I didn't see that coming and no one would have written that script. It was a victory well deserved even if the second goal was a mistake from Leeds but the finish was expertly done but the keeper could have done better as he was beaten at his near post.
Leeds crashed out of the FA Cup in a sensational fashion and what a joy for Crawley. Leeds would have to go back to their drawing board as their inconsistency is beginning to show and they need to continue with their impressive start if they don't want to go into relegation scrap.
I look forward to the 4th round draw and it is too early to predict what teams would be paired with each other but there is higher probability that more Premier League sides would be paired with each other.
Leeds are out and that is a bit of positive for others that have been knocked out because it means less fixtures for them and their pilled up matches have been decongested but it is also a negative in the same vein as they won't have more options to rotate their squad, they have lost a shot at the trophy and of course the more money it would also mean for the club.
