Tonight, we sit by the fire
Each man to himself
As we travel down memory lanes
While the sound of the wind
And the cracking of branches in the fire
Dorm a perfect pitch for an elegy
The moon shines at its brightest
As if hypnotizing us
To go back in time for you and see again
What time with you felt like
While our frail heart succumbs
To the magic
The frogs and crickets croak
And sing an elegy for your departing soul
While the smoke from the fire dances solemnly
Talking drums and flute
Perform their final rites for you
And chanters tell tales of how much
You impacted our lives and lifestyles
Tears burn our eyes
As we bid our final goodbyes
Now, we will refer to you in the past
And you shall only be alive in our memories
Because now, duty calls and responsibilities beckon
This is a dirge for our departing friend; childhood
We will cherish the memories
and live with it forever
Goodbye Childhood, adulthood calls for us...
Thank you for your time.
My pen doesn't bleed, it speaks, with speed and ease.
Still me,
My tongue is like the pen of a ready writer.
