Hello everyone and welcome back to my Splinterlands blog!
Today it's time to make a post for this weeks Social Media Challenge, this weeks it has two topics really:
Share the news about 1-Click Set Rentals!
🔥 We’ve introduced the ability to list a set of cards for seasonal rental! Currently, we have a template of Chaos Legion Core + Reward cards available, which will be presented to new users after they purchase their Spellbook.
🔥 Share Your Most Remarkable Splinterlands Moments: Do you possess a battle of epic proportions that deserves to be seen by all? Have you crafted something extraordinary within the Splinterlands realm? Maybe you've got profound thoughts, insights, or strategies related to stats, cards, abilities, or gameplay that are waiting to be shared? We want it all, and we want it to be nothing short of AMAZING!
It's been a while since I made a post, I pause blogging once a year to spend time on holiday with my family, our trip went to France again this year so I had to take a break from Splinterlands, BUT...
Not entirely!
And that's already my most remarkable Splinterlands moment I want to share, since I started playing Splinterlands, I've always been a PC player, I tried playing on phone several times but it always looked crappy and there was too much scrolling, I couldn't even understand which card was in front of the team when I saw the battlefield, so, every year I just stopped playing while on holiday.
The team is really working hard on improving the game and work on the NPE, or New Player Experience, and a crappy phone gameplay is NOT what we needed, so the team made the decision a while ago to end of life the app and work on the browser version, and WOW! it's almost the same look as on my pc, while smaller of course, the only 'thing' is, in most screens like the team selection and battle results you have to keep your phone vertically:
while in the battlefield view it works better when you tilt your phone horizontally:
So, in a few 'lost' moments when I had extra time, or when everyone was still asleep early in the morning, I could still play my favorite game on my phone!! 😍
Last year I tried playing on my laptop with my phone providing internet trough a personal hotspot but it just consumed too much data.
To be able to play on your phone, I recommend you install the Hive Keychain app, and use the apps in-app browser so go to splinterlands.com
The data consumption is still pretty high, in the two weeks I was abroad I used 12Gb to play 30 - 45 minutes on average every day, but of course for players who doesn't have access to a PC but are at home with limitless WiFi this isn't a problem at all and it's a great improvement.
But there's even more good news...
Wait... what?? When you read all the negativity about Splinterlands out there you must have thought this game is dying and now I'm hear to tell you there's actually GOOD news?
It's true, there's a lot of FUD out there, and it's also true that since I started playing in 2021, the game has changed a lot, many mistakes were made and a lot of problems were faced, like the bot invasion leeching our economy to a slow death.
Thing like that needed to be dealt with, and the solutions not only hurt bot accounts but also normal players, and asset prices kept falling, I have to be honest about that, it's not pretty...
the SPS token price is under 1 cents a while now and my card collection value dropped from $3000 to $700 but there's in thing that was never lost for me, and made me able to continue playing this game every day for three years now: FUN!
You never ever will be able to continue grinding a game, even when you are earning a nice amount, every single day for multiple years when it doesn't have the FUN component, on days you're tired or are busy you'll start making excuses and skip playing, and before you know it, you haven't played for a week...
It's how humans work, I went to this process myself with other games multiple times, and the only thing I've sticked with for this long, is Splinterlands.
Hmm, I keep rambling without telling you the good news 😅 well you could have seen in the post theme of course, it's the ability for new players to rent a full deck with 1 click, and this really was needed!
As an experienced player I can tell which cards are must have and which are OP, also which ones I almost never use... but a new player doesn't know, so how does he or she knows what to rent or buy!?
So this FINALLY has been fixed, and you can now rent a full Chaos Legion set which you will be able to play in the Modern League and just start playing without all other things that you can do in the game, because for new players, it's just overwhelming, everything you can do in the Splinterverse!

Requirements:

Check this post (it may be a little outdated) for more information.
Well, this is almost the end of this post, I'm really excited 'our' game is heading in the right direction again, for me at least it certainly feels that way, unfortunately a lot of existing players lost faith in the process and have left, hopefully some of them will return, and while assets are down it's a great time to start buying your own cards for a lot less that I did.
If you're willing to start, be sure to let me know, I'm happy to guide you along the process and I also have some cards I can lend you to aid you in battle!
Thank you for reading!!!
If you haven't made an account already, please consider using my referral link to sign up, I'll happily send the amount I get for your signup back to you in DEC or SPS to help you start.
Have a great day!
