Hi everyone! This will be my last blog post for the challenges for the next week, I'll be leaving to France this sunday for two weeks 😃.
With the Splinterlands Social Media Challenge we can pretty much talk about anything Splinterlands related as long as we share it outside the Hive community and make it look good.
To find out how you can participate in the challenge yourself, check out the Splinterlands post here.
Today I want to talk about the sustainability of the Life splinter, when I started playing in 2021, I really, really hated the Life splinter, I got my ass kicked by it a lot, and when I tried to play it I failed hard 😅.
Back then we didn't have General Sloan and Grandmaster Rathe and a lot of other cards we have now so the gameplay with Life was very different.
By being able to choose from different summoners and even combine it with the Dragon team, you can be very flexible and adaptive to the rulesets and your opponents previous played teams, and by rotating this (not play the same summoner and team over and over) you keep your opponent in the dark what team you're going to play next.
Todays battle is a 44 mana Fog of War / Stampede battle, with all splinters available except for the Water team. My plan was to pick a beefy tank and support it really well so the enemy team couldn't get trough while my team slowly killed the other team. When focusing on support, damage output isn't maximum buy you can't have it all.
First look at the battlefield:
My opponent (probably a bot, looking at it's name) went for the Death team with a well balanced magic / archery / melee damage output. Harklaw with Thadius is a nice combination I think, effectively nerfing magic and physical attacks on your tank, good choice.

My Line-Up:
- Summoner: Quix the Devious - reason: Access to the Dragon team.
- First position: Djinn Chwala - reason: Good damage, thorns, high armor / HP total.
- Second position: Corsair Bosun - reason: High melee damage, reflection shield to protect form thorns in case I met another Chwala.
- Third position: Adelaide Brightwing - reason: Repair, Resurrect.
- Fourth position: Venari Crystalsmith - reason: Heal, good archery damage for only 4 mana.
- Fifth position: War Pegasus - reason: Shatter in case of a big armored rank with the same sustain strategy to repair.
- Sixth position: Scavo Hireling - reason: Repair
The Battle:
Round 1: Harklaw's armor got shattered and he already took good damage, my Chwala getting the full heat now, the first rounds are the most dangerous because from now on enemy cards will hopefully get killed and the total damage output is being reduced.
Round 2: Harklaw and Arachne Thug both died, from now on it's just sustaining Chwalla.
Round 3: Shatter is really helpful to get that extra attack landed, a lot of times 1 armor is left standing to take another blow from melee or archery damage, with shatter, the 1 armor left is gone too so the path is clear for the next monster to land it's attack.
Only three monsters left.
Round 4: Four down, two to go, it can be a bit challenging to land an attack against Lira because she is pretty fast, but we've got all the time, no getting trough my heal and repairs!
Round 5 FINAL ROUND: My team ended exactly how it started! Full health, what couldn't be said for my opponent 😁
So my love for the Life splinter really wasn't love at first sight! it grew slowly, as with other cards, like Immortalis too.
I'll be back in August, I'm planning to rent out my deck while I'm away, since it takes too much time playing my accounts and probably too much mobile data too since I like to play on my laptop and not on my phone.
