Some people wonder what is the point of NFT Art? First, we must define the term NFT. NFT is an acronym for a non-fungible token. This means that the token is immutable. Some people also say an NFT is a one of a kind. This may have been true in the beginning, but if we look at different market places, that is no longer the case. Many NFTS are now made with editions. Editions simply mean that the same artwork exists multiple times. In other words multiple copies of the NFT exist.
Now that we have our terms defined, I'll tell you why I make NFT's. It is fun! I love technology and I use computer programs to make my NFT art. Above you will see one of my favorite pieces. At the moment, it is an award winner. Byteblock, an NFT marketplace on the Tezos blockchain, awarded this piece and two other pieces the honor of being featured on their Twitter page as part of their banner. I made this piece with a 48mp camera. The dog is my dog. I then used an app to make it look like it was drawn on pen and paper. I used the same app to make it look like a museum piece with the part that says "Cali by: NFT Artist 2021." I then used another app to frame it and then I minted it onto the Tezos blockchain. Interestingly, no one has bought this piece and its on sale for 1 Tez (approximately $2 USD at time of writing). Only a few artists make millions. NFT art for me is actually a money loser even though I've made some sales. For me its simply fun to produce the art and then mint it for others to see. It's even better when someone likes my piece so much they decide to buy it. I mint on Tezos, Fuse and Polygon.
