Does Cardano custodial holding in Coinbase mean an actual listing for buying?

By AWANKASH | New in Cryptocurrency | 5 Jul 2020

Cardano has announced the Coinbase Custody deal. You will be able to stake your ADA in the Coinbase cold wallet service. But Cardano is not listed in Coibase at the moment. Will it be there, let's have a little speculation.

A close comparison would be Tezos. The timeline is a little different but let's see if we can find any hints about what might be coming up?

Tezos announced November 2019 but XTZ markets opened August 5th. So there is about 3 month period with markets opening to the custodial staking opening.

Now the announcement was Q4 2020 to start the ADA staking. It would make very little sense that you could not buy it internally before opening the staking. Based on XTZ timeline it would surely be Q3 of 2020 that markets would open for ADA.

This is based on speculation from a previous listing. Not confirmed information!

Coinbase also has a great learning platform. This might get more people interested in the project by just sharing information with rewards!

Sam McIngvale, Coinbase Custody's head of product said their regulated product would help projects, like Cardano, find more mainstream acceptance.
