Upland uses a hybrid backend that incorporates a traditional gaming stack to handle key gaming functions such as game logic, content management and visualization, and a blockchain Layer that serves to allow the core concepts of Upland's true ownership of all digital assets and an Economy that is available. For the implementation of its blockchain layer, Upland utilizes the EOS main net. Compared to other possible public blockchains, EOSIO technology provides many benefits that relate to Upland's requirements. Among the benefits are: the opportunity to spend funds in favor of Uplanders, ridding players of the need to pay transaction fees. The elaborate permission system of EOSIO enables technical advancement to make Upland available to players who are not tech-savvy, while still retaining the advantages of True Ownership and open economy. Superior processing speed of transactions needed to sustain a mass-consumer-adopted game. A large and active group of developers funded by a dedicated founding entity
IMPLEMENTATION of TOKEN
On the EOS mainnet, all digital properties in Upland are stored as follows:
UPX The UPX virtual currency of Upland is extracted from the smart contract of the EOS token. UPX transactions need the multi-signing of both the owner and Upland for regulatory reasons that include ensuring that UPX is purely a utility token intended for use within the Upland ecosystem.
In Upland, each virtual property matches one-to-one with a real-world physical address defined by a parcel comprising specific geo-boundaries. To prevent parcel boundary disputes and to allow potential ownership of parts of the globe that do not come under official addresses,
All minted assets are listed on the EOS mainnet in a multi-index table along with the list of UP2 IDs and EOS account ID of the owner. Upland also reveals a smart contract action that enables everyone to provide and decode a UP2 ID to return the world's precise and special geo position.
The Upland Smart Contract offers measures to allow for the following:
Minting of new assets owned by Uplander EOS accounts Putting up properties on escrow for sale Withdrawing properties from sale Purchase of assets owned by other Uplanders and on sale Make escrow-based purchase offers for assets owned by other Uplanders. Approval or rejection of purchase offers offered by Other uplanders. Collection of UPX earnings for owned properties Allowing an owner to burn their own property (un-mint) (this action is needed to support the free play model of Upland)
