The main Italian production of cherries comes from the Puglia and Veneto Regions, but the area around Vignola has gained a well-known reputation in the production of quality red fruits, cherries and plums, having an own mark of origin and exporting its productions not only in Italy but also all over Europe.

Maybe cherries are my favourite fruit and when they start to be available I have (it is a must) to eat some every day (from middle may until the end of June and sometimes also in July, if I find them somewhere).
I don't buy cherries in the street market or in stores, I prefer to go directly to the producers as I did yesterday.

I also asked the landowner the permission to have a quick walk in his fields and orchards, finding the young trees that will produce fruits in a few years ...

... and the more aged ones that are in production.

Yes, they are productive.
