Recently I had the opportunity to make a survey northwards from the city of Modena (Northern Italy) and I got some minutes to have a quick walk in the nearby countryside.
It is surprising to note how many wild animals can live near urban areas.
There is a wild rabbit (a hare) but it is very hidden in the grass.

I perceived it only when it kept running away very quickly (you have to look for it very carefully on the left side of the photo at the border of the field).

The gray heron (in the center) and the magpie (on the left) were considering me too far to be a potential danger, so they stayed still.

Another gray heron considered waited a few seconds then it decided I was too near to remain and flight away.

All pictures were taken by me with a 5 MPx camera.
