This undoubtedly beautiful plant, which has over 40 varieties, has settled in the park garden for good. Although its natural habitat is China, Japan or Korea, it also feels great in European conditions.

Likes semi-shady positions, some species are sunny, but all require a lot of soil moisture. It is a long-lived plant, and above all melliferous.

When I was taking pictures of this plant, a lot of insects flew in. They looked a bit like bees, but their abdomens were quite massive for bees. Nevertheless, they certainly collected pollen, and some of them were quite covered with it.

Due to the fact that hostas are very diverse species, their sizes are also different. There are dwarf plants and those that reach over 80 cm in height.

All hosta species have similar and beautiful flowers, but they differ in foliage. The leaves are large, heart-shaped, but the color may vary. From green, celadon, to gray, through white and cream. The flowers are white or purple in color.

Beautiful cup-shaped flowers appear just in this period, i.e. in July, but in some species they appear only in autumn.

The plant, as it is frost-resistant, is perfect for home gardens. It can be grown both in the ground and in pots. It requires humus soil, mulched to prevent moisture drainage, and fertilization from time to time. She repays it with beautiful flowers.
