Supporters of traditional porter-type beers, which I also belong to, may be a bit surprised by the taste of beer produced by the Polish Fortuna brewery. It is a raspberry porter.

Raspberry aftertaste, but variable over time

At first glance, it might seem like a low-quality raspberry-flavored beer, but nothing like that. The beer is brewed in the traditional way, but in the fermentation process a little raspberry juice is added.

There is not too much of it, just enough to slightly change the taste of the beer and feel, in addition to the bitterness of the porter, a raspberry note. But this is not the end of the surprises.

Hints of vanilla and chilli 🌶️

In addition, the beer contains a bit of spicy chilli, and interestingly, you don't feel it after the first sip. A delicate spice is felt as you consume the drink to feel its fullness after the last sip.

Aging up to 36 months

An interesting feature of this porter is that its taste changes over time. It is worth looking at when the beer was produced in order to read the properties and taste of the beer from a given aging period on a special scale on the label.

Beer changes its taste over 36 months from sweet to very dry.
