This individual dragonfly named Chalcolestes viridis is a so-called "badly born dragonfly". Probably her abdomen was still hardened in the molt, and it could not straighten, hence the deformities. Its flight capabilities are quite limited, it only traveled a few meters. From the thickness of the abdomen, it can be assumed that it is a female.

First she sat down to close the pockets of my pants, where she was probably attracted by the red color.

Later it moved to my leg, and stayed on it for a good few minutes.

Finally, she sat down on the rocks near the pond where she probably hatched and allowed herself a photo shoot.

The green moth (Chalcolestes viridis) is found mainly in central and southern Poland. It occurs in Central Europe, the basin, the Mediterranean and Asia.

The close-up shows the beautiful ribbing of the delicate wings. Interestingly, dragonflies are one of the fastest flying insects on earth. They have mastered the art of hovering and can accelerate up to 10 m / s. They can also fly with badly damaged wings.

This dragonfly likes all kinds of stagnant waters, shallow reservoirs, lake bays, or in this case ponds in the park. In their vicinity there should be plants in which dragonflies lay their eggs. They live from June to October.
