Yesterday, when I went for a walk in the park, beautiful and strange flowers caught my eye. At first, taking pictures of them, I thought that they would end up in a post about plants.

The longer I took these photos, the more I doubted whether it was really supposed to be a post about a plant? At some point I felt like I was on another planet because the photos came out magical.

A limited number of colors, some even looking as if a mask had been put on them in negative, caused the atmosphere to remind me of some fantasy movie, and soon some elves and rusalkas will fly out of these blue balls.

So I decided to put these magical shots in the photography tag. Nevertheless, I will write you a few words about this strange plant, because it seems appropriate.

This flower is called Glandular globe-thistle and is a melliferous flower. It smells wonderful, thanks to which it effectively attracts bees and other insects. It can be grown in gardens in various color varieties.

Although it may look menacing, like a spiked ball, it is actually delicate and soft. It has no spikes. What looks like thorns are nothing but flower buds that will soon appear on this ball.

This undoubtedly beautiful and unique flower also has healing properties. Honey, which is made on the basis of this flower, has anti-inflammatory properties, is used for infections and to treat muscle ailments.

The spherical inflorescences can be eaten like artichokes. They also contain large amounts of vitamin C and an alkaloid called echinopsin, which delays the development of a disease called multiple sclerosis (MS).
