Mushrooms occurring in Europe - Tuber rufum

Tuber rufum - Mushroom diameter 10 to 60 mm. In a spherical shape, more or less regular. Initially, pale yellowish-red, later rusty, red-brown, dark brown.

Peridium hard, easily separating from the interior, with a smooth to branched surface, sometimes covered with polygonal, low warts with the character of cracks.

The soil was initially light beige to the flesh, later reddish to brown-red, densely used. The smell is weak, slightly sour in old age.

Occurrence: In deciduous and coniferous forests, in parks and gardens, under oaks, hawthorn, linden trees, larches, spruces, rare. From June to November.

Value: Mushroom inedible, unpalatable, without aroma.
