
Tricholomopsis decora - A hat with a diameter of 30 to 100 mm, initially convex, then arched, subdued, flat, recessed in the middle, sometimes with a low umbo; surface golden yellow, yellow orange, covered with delicate, olive-brown, black-brown, fibrillose scales, thicker in the middle part.
Lamellas 3 to 8 mm thick, intensely yellow, yellow-orange; dense, broadly adorned or notched, smooth blade, slightly frosted.
Stem 30 to 80 mm high, 5 to 12 mm thick; cylindrical, curved; at full age, then empty; fibrous; surface in the upper part in young specimens of white color, then all yellow, covered with tiny scales.
Flesh thin, resilient, unchanging. White, yellow. The taste is slightly bitter, the aroma is mild.
Occurrence: In coniferous and mixed forests, on rotting stumps, fallen branches of conifers, more frequent in mountainous regions; grows singly or in groups, clumps; from July to October; rare.
Value: Inedible fungus, but opinions on this subject are divided.
