Laetiporus sulphureus is a species of fungus (mushrooms growing on trees) occurring in Europe and North America. Its common names are Crab-in-woods, sulfur, sulfur shelf and chicken-in-forest. Its fruity bodies grow like striking golden-yellow, resembling shelves of structure on trunks and branches of trees. The bottom part of the fruit body consists of pores resembling tubes rather than gills.

The fruiting body emerges directly from the trunk of the tree and is initially shaped like a knob, but soon it expands to fan-shaped shelves, usually growing at overlapping levels. It is sulfur-yellow to bright orange and has a suedelike-like texture. Each shelf can have a width of 5 to 60 cm (2 to 23.5 inches) and up to 4 cm (1.5 inches).
It is inedible.
