
Boletus radicans - Hat diameter 50 to 300 mm, young hemispherical, later cushioned, chordolate, thick-grained, with a long folded edge; dry, velvety, pale, whiteish, with age of brownish brown; skin in the dry season can be cracked.
Tubes 15 to 30 mm long, with the shaft deeply cut; pale yellow, lemon yellow, later dirty black; they are strongly blue at the intersection.
Pores in the color of the tubes, after squeezing blue.
Stem 40 to 130 mm high, 30 to 80 mm thick; young ovoid-bellied, later belly-like; at the base, thickened, below sharpened, root with a clotted mycelium; at the top yellow, covered with a delicate mesh, at the base brownish; when pressed, it strongly sips.
Flesh firm, in a white, yellow hat, in the stem ochrolożółty, after the intersection immediately blue and blue to fade after a few moments; bitter taste, unpleasant odor, sour smell.
Occurrence: On the ground, in warm deciduous forests, mostly under oaks and beeches, on limestone glazes; rare. From July to October.
Value: Fungus inedible because of the bitter taste and unpleasant smell.
