Hello people!

I recently received an email from OKX, not the ones they are sending now reminding us (and "reassuring" us) that our funds are safe on these exchanges, but something new. The wallet.

It is a Web3 Wallet, and what is it? A web3 wallet is simply a digital wallet that can be used to store digital assets and to send and receive digital assets and swap tokens. These digital assets include Non-fungible tokens (NFTs). it is a tool for accessing the web3 economy, allowing users to interact with Dapps. Web3 wallets are often non-custodial wallets, meaning that the wallet owner can store digital assets without needing a third party. A web3 wallet comes with its unique private keys or seed phrase that is used to access the wallet, and the responsibility of securing the wallet lies with the owner of the wallet. (Clarusway.com)

So, can we take control of our cryptos? Yes if you use a cold wallet (like Ledger, Trezor, etc.) your cryptos are yours, but also you can use these Web3 Wallet (like Metamask, Trust Wallet, etc.) to store, swap or interact with Dapps. But an Exchange wallet?

Some Exchanges have their own wallets like Coinbase and OKX as we see here… I use this OKX exchange because I like it, it's easy and in my opinion somewhat more intuitive than Kucoin, with interesting functions like Binance has (staking, earn, launchpools, mystery boxes...) that's why I'm getting used to it, although I haven't tried it yet this wallet. Apparently it also has a browser extension like Metamask, and you don't need to download another app, it's the same exchange app from where we can connect and go to the wallet.

The positive part is that it allows a very easy connection with the exchange and simple steps to transfer your cryptos from the exchange to the wallet. What suits us all, nothing complicated.

I don't know yet, I don't have too many cryptos here, but it is true that after everything we have seen with FXT and other problems with cryptos and trust in this system, we are always reminded not to have those cryptos on exchanges because they are not yours. And currently the safest wallet options where you can deposit your earnings are many, you just have to choose the wallets that interest you.

I have Ledger, Metamask, Coinbase wallet app (although I don't use it), and in exchanges little, you have to be careful because the crypto world is in turmoil and you know well, we have learned that:
