If like me, you have read the official FAQ, this helpful tomoyan post , you lurked around reddit to see what is wrong, you even reinstalled at least a couple of times, you tried the Beta version of it, you removed all your extensions.... and you are not still getting those damn ads

Well, it could be that the Windows Action Centre is fucking up the registry and you can fix it by re-registering your apps.

Instructions:
1- Close Brave
2- Open a PowerShell in admin and use:
3- Type

Get-AppxPackage | % { Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppxManifest.xml" -verbose }

4 - This should re-register the action centre, when it's done, restart your pc.

I hope it works for you as it did for me. It was not immediate, I only got 1 notification 5 hours later... and that was it for the day 😔

BUT this confirmed that I now am able to get the ads and it is not anything on Windows that is getting in the way. And in the next week I started to gradually get more ads.

Still, I do not get as many as other people seem to get - I seem to get 1 to 2 a day. I get more on my mobile and even there is very inconsistent (some days around 20, others 5).

There are loads of people having the same problem as you might see when you search for it. Brave is aware of it, so hopefully, I will get better at some point.
