A Nobel at Gunpoint

A Nobel at Gunpoint

Amid the recent war for Greenland that the US is doing, some letters from the White House were leaked. Many contrarians suggested that these could be fake. There is no way someone could just say it out. But for the president of the US, who is known for his honesty, the letters were to Norway. The letter was in fact legitimate, in which Trump said to Norway that, “as you did not give me a Nobel Prize, I don’t think of peace anymore.”

He also questioned Denmark owning Greenland, and said that the US can only protect Greenland from Russia, China. The tone of the president suggests that he was thinking of peace just because of the Nobel Prize. He didn’t get it, so there is a war on the table.

The fact is, Norway does not decide who gets the Nobel Prize; it is decided by a committee.
Donald Trump in fact got the Nobel Prize just days after. It was gifted to him by Maria Machado, the Venezuelan politician who ran opposite to the dictator that Trump captured. This gift was to sway Trump, so she in fact gets her status as the leader.

This all seems cartoonish to me. Machado was thought to become the leader when the dictator was kidnapped, but Trump said she didn’t have much respect in Venezuela.

There was a leak from the New York Times some time ago that Trump wanted Machado to lead. Because she won the Nobel Prize and he didn’t, he was pissed. Because of that leak, Machado came to give the Nobel Prize.

Donald Trump wanted to win a Nobel Prize at gunpoint, which he won in fact.
