Today I would like to comment with you on a news released yesterday, which opens the doors to the use of blockchain and web3.0 to combat the climate and energy crisis!
The news is that the World Economic Forum (WEF) is launching a new public-private partnership called the Crypto Sustainability Coalition, which will investigate how to use Web3 and blockchain tools to achieve positive climate action.
The non-governmental organization based in Switzerland will include 30 partners within the intersection of sustainable development and web3 technologies, cryptocurrencies and blockchain, during a panel discussion entitled "Web3's Climate Impact".
Coalition members will explore the potential positive impacts that technologies such as blockchain, cryptocurrencies and non-fungible tokens (NFTs) have on environmental and social agendas.
The World Economic Forum then goes directly into the field of cryptocurrencies and launches this new project aimed at sustainability, to investigate the potential of Web3 technologies to combat climate change. The World Economic Forum is a non-profit foundation based in Cologny in Switzerland and was born in 1971 on the initiative of the economist and academic Klaus Schwab. It is made up of leading exponents of politics, of the international economy, of selected intellectuals and journalists and they meet to discuss the most urgent issues that the world is facing, including in matters of health and the environment.
The 3 main points of the program that the working group will deal with concern:
- The energy consumption of the crypto sector and the impact on the environment,
- The innovations of the Web3 for climate change,
- Credit management on a global scale through the use of the blockchain.
I think that in the future, perhaps during the next bull-market, the results of this initiative will begin to be seen and that in the long term these studies could have a bullish signal on the crypto and blockchain world. We know how much the issue of sustainability is increasingly relevant and if the web3 and blockchain will be able to offer sustainable solutions, then it will be much more likely to see the blockchain and the web 3 increasingly mass and integrated into our lives!
