Morgan Stanley has decided to allow its financial advisors to offer investors Bitcoin spot ETFs starting August 7, according to CNBC.

This move was expected and responds to growing demand from investors who want to enter the world of cryptocurrencies through institutional channels.

Initially, the bank will select investors to whom it will offer these products, limiting itself to BlackRock's iShares Bitcoin Trust and Fidelity's Wise Origin Bitcoin Fund.

One of the requirements to participate will be to have a minimum net worth of $1.5 million and to consider the investment as highly speculative. It will not be possible to include these investments in a retirement account.

Morgan Stanley will also monitor the holdings to avoid excessive exposure. Only after this monitoring phase could Ethereum spot ETFs be considered.

Morgan Stanley is the first major financial advisory firm to undertake such an operation. Until now, large financial advisory firms have been very reluctant to adopt cryptocurrencies, and this move could encourage other giants such as Bank of America, JPMorgan Chase, and Wells Fargo to follow suit.

The fact that Morgan Stanley is the largest of these is not a small detail. Its network of advisors manages nearly $4 trillion of funds, out of a total of $6.2 trillion managed by the firm.
