Christmas 2022 Event Primer!!! (Updated: 13 december)

Hey Hunters!

The Holidays are quickly approaching and with it comes from December 21 to 29, the Coin Hunt World Christmas Event. This event is my favorite because of the joyous thematic, an interesting game mechanic and also it looks so damn good in dark mode! There is nothing more nice than looking at my game screen to see a few Xmas trees in dark mode and watching snowflakes trickle down. Let’s not forget the music! Inspired by my Halloween Event Primer, I will explain how the Xmas event works, how to prepare and what strategy to use. Illusionweaver has confirmed that there will be no major changes as they like the event as it is. We still have no indication if there are any new resources that will drop nor we have any new recipes.

Mechanic

CHW Christmas Event is an effort based cooperation event. Xmas themed resources will drop from vaults. A quest chain will be available in which you will need to unlock Xmas tree blueprints to place on top of your own uservaults. These trees will give different event resources and randomly drop Xmas blueprints. Finishing the quest chain will give you a HQ skin and rare resources. There is a Xmas trivia category.

Below you can find the different resources and cubies available last year.

Regular vaults: Candy canes, guaranteed resource box in Christmas Trivia category.
Tiny Xmas Tree: Candy Canes, Jingle Bells, the Elf Cubie and Santa Cubie Blueprint.
Xmas Tree: Cinnamon Sticks, Jingle Bells, Antlers, Eggnog and the Rudolph Cubie Blueprint.
Huge Xmas Tree: Cinnamon Sticks, Eggnog, Lumps of Coal, Red Ribbons and the Gingerbread Cubie Blueprint

Event preparation

Keys: You will need lots of keys. You need keys to hit all system vaults/uservaults/trees to collect resources. You also need to advance on the quest chain. You will need, as all other quest chains, 1 green, 1 yellow and 1 red.
UV: Uservaults are the cornerstones of this event. They are where you will place your Xmas trees. You need to have enough Uservaults in your local hunting ground in order to benefit from them as Xmas resources will drop from them.
Xmas Trees: Xmas trees are available in the Auction House and as a reward of December’s Adventure Road (RD) on tier 26. One of them is a rare tree on the pay side! So you better advance quickly on the AR so you have these trees at the start of the event. . It is still a good idea to place any trees as early as possible in order to have a chance of dropping blueprints from the get go.
Resources
- Completing the AR quickly is your best bet in preparing for the event. The AR gives out Jingle Bells, Antlers, Cinnamon sticks. Coal and red ribbons are also given but other than the Snowman, there is no use for them.
- Try to buy candy canes in the Auction House. These will help you get your Xmas trees faster on the quest chains.
- Buy Jingle Bells in order to get a head start in getting your cubies printed.
- Although there is currently no indication at what kind of resources the new cubies will need. Eggnog is distinctly Xmas related, it is a good bet that they will still be needed for at least 1 new cubie. So trying to get some in the AH can be a good but pricey idea to help get that new cubie.
and Cubies: Having last year’s cubies can help you advance quicker on the quest chain. Try to buy them in the AH.

Strategy during the Event

Plan which user vaults you will replace with Xmas Trees. You want uservaults that you can hit easily all the time. Be sure to leave one uservault without a tree to put the Huge tree on it. Warning: If you have that many trees, do not place Xmas trees on all your own UVs if you are the single player in your area. You need vaults to get more candy canes drop.
Coordinate Xmas tree placement with other players to optimize hunting areas.
Report your Xmas sightings on Coinhuntmap.com and local discords. This will help other players and also attract keys to your user vaults.
Find other Xmas tree rich hunting grounds because your own will not be enough. Use Anakura’s Coinhuntmap.com to see where they are.
Use last year’s cubies to advance quicker on the quest chain.
Do not print a cubie too quickly. Check if a quest chain block allows you to use one of last year’s cubies to advance. Use last year cubies instead of printing the new one… this way you will save on resources that you will certainly need for the new Epic Cubie.
Wear Xmas cubies!!! Almost all events require players wearing the event’s cubies to increase event resource drops! Print and wear them!
Hunt hard! Do your walking quests! This event is effort based, requiring hitting as many vaults and trees as possible to get enough resources and increase your chances of getting the blueprints.

Unknowns:

We dont know the exact dates for the event. UPDATE: December 21 to 29
No indication on exactly what kind of resources are required or what are the new ones.
It is unclear if answering Xmas Category trivia gives a special bonus. UPDATE: Xmas Category = guaranteed resource box
It is unclear if higher tier vaults will have anything special. So you better have a bunch of green and yellow keys in inventory.
It is unlikely that having a Gingerbread House HQ Skin will give any bonuses. (Illusionweaver said that such a buff is more likely next year)
