ConsenSys: 66% of Ethereum users intend to use staking


According to a survey by Ethereum-Studio ConsenSys, two-thirds of participants in the ecosystem of the second cryptocurrency plan to resort to staking after switching to ETH 2.0 with the Proof of Stake consensus algorithm.c7da094cd80b48213ca0fdfef01e10d9e138e7c57e4c299ecc61db06f5043628.jpeg

14.6% of respondents are undecided in this regard, and 2.8% are not going to block their coins.

63.2% of those who took part in the survey were holders of an amount equal to or greater than 32 ETH. This is the number of coins needed to become a validator in the updated Ethereum network.

The majority of those who expressed a desire to get this status have a much larger amount in ETH, the report notes.

Only 22.5% of respondents admitted that they have less than 32 ETH in their assets. The others chose not to disclose the data.  

More than half of respondents also hold bitcoin in their portfolio, and 84% own stablecoins. About 20% also hold assets in cryptocurrencies from the first and even the second hundred by capitalization, such as Loom or Matic.

Almost half of ETH owners (46%) store coins in hardware wallets. Most of those who plan to use the services of third-party providers for staking, store cryptocurrency on major exchanges.

Only 15.8% of respondents believe that they have a "clear understanding" of how the future Ethereum 2.0 network will work. the Majority (54.4%) said that they have a "General idea"about this.
