Everybody is shocked that Justin Sun, a man with a big ego and an even bigger bank account, ate a banana he bought for $6 million.
I don't particularly like Sun and I definitely don't like the idea that he bought that stupid banana for $6 million, but in my view, the really serious problem is somewhere else.
A banana taped to a wall is not and cannot and should not be considered a work of art. But for some reason it was, so now the result is Justin Sun's stunt.
The banana idea is so stupid I can't even begin to fathom it.
If my 5-year-old son taped a banana to a wall I'd say "wow, amazing, good job!" and then I'd take a picture and that'd be it.
For some reason, an artist does it and we call it 'art'. It isn't art.
If the world had considered the taped banana bulls**t, not art, which is what it is, there wouldn't have been an auction to begin with, and the whole thing wouldn't have happened.
