Why are people so tone-deaf?

Why are people so tone-deaf?

Air India employees were filmed partying in the office, just a few weeks after the Air India crash that killed around 270 people.

The video went viral, people were outraged, and some of the staffers got fired.

Everyone has different opinions.

Some will say firing them for it was the right thing to do, some might say it wasn't.

Some might say this party was insensitive and out of place, some might say life goes on and nothing will bring them back anyway.

My opinion, assuming the party didn't and won't hinder their performance when they're on duty, and assuming the party took place afterhours, I'm not entirely sure I'd have fired them for it, even though I agree that it was insensitive and shouldn't have happened.

But also, I'd definitely fire the people who filmed it and posted it to social media. And not only that, if I were an Air India executive, I'd talk to the company's lawyers and ask them if there's room for further action, maybe a lawsuit.

People do dumb s**t all the time, and I get that. We're human. We make mistakes.

However, I find very difficult to tolerate the stupidity of people who are incredibly tone-deaf.

Sharing videos of the party was clearly a dumb thing to do. Partly because they should've known better, they should've known everybody was going to hate them for it.

And also because, without videos on social media, no one would've found out that, and nothing would've happened.
