4 News From This Week You Might Have Missed (20 to 26 April)

Despite the current situation in the world due to COVID-19, it has been an interesting week for the cryptocurrency world. And this will probably continue on this momentum in the coming weeks, particularly with the next Bitcoin halving in more than 2 weeks, an halving which could cause a big shake or a flop. Enough talking of the future, let's now review the hottest topics from this week !

1. Ripple attacks YouTube in court for fraud :

You heard right, Ripple has passed to the offensive against the multi-billionaire platform in order to denouncing scams. Indeed Ripple found that YouTube was very lax dealing with those scams, they stated that YouTube should really be active and incisive to identify the scams and then delete them as fast as they can. Ripple has also denounced the fact that YouTube isn't doing enough to fix this problem because they (YT) are making some benefits out of these scams. Moreover, Ripple added that this concerns every social networks and not only YouTube. We will see how it ends but it's definitely going to be in court.

2. Then let's move on with McDonald, Subway and Starbucks who plans to use Chinese cryptocurrency :

It has been in the discussions for a while and according to some Chinese media it is now official. Those three huge enterprises are going to test a cryptocurrency (numerical Yuan) which will use a blockchain approved by the Chinese Central Bank, those tests aim to see if this kind of cryptocurrency could be use worldwide in the future and also what adjustments can be make. It will be launched in some neighborhoods in the country and see how it turns out, this news isn't really surprising because China is more and more invested in the development of what could become "the first cryptocurrency in a Central Bank."

3. Let's continue with an ambitious idea, a voting Application linked to a Blockchain in the USA :

This is the project of an enterprise named WinterGreen Research, and apparently the development of this Application has advanced rather well. According to what the society said it will be available for the US elections later this year, why this idea you might ask, well due to COVID-19 this Application emerged just in time, indeed it is preferable that people can vote without moving from there home. A lot of States have already given their agreements and the project seems to be on the right track.

4. And let's finish with a fun fact, the discovery of a 20 years old message from Satoshi Nakamoto :

If this name doesn't mean anything to you it's probably because you're new in the cryptocurrency world because basically he is the Bitcoin creator (not bad at all, right?). This week some people have searched on internet and they found something pretty interesting, I'm talking about a message from 1999 written by Satoshi on the Cypherpunks forum. Basically this article deals with solutions and ideas for a "digital currency", and this is exactly what you can find in the Bitcoin's White Book (published in 2008, so 9 years later!). The identity of Satoshi is still unknown, but this article on the forum has revived some theories about this mysterious genius.
